As members of the Balkan-English Translators Association (BETA), we uphold the highest standards of professional conduct in translation and editing. Our code of ethics reflects our shared commitment to accuracy, integrity, and cultural responsibility.

1. Accuracy & Fidelity
   We strive to deliver precise, contextually appropriate translations that preserve the tone, meaning, and nuance of the original text. We do not add, omit, or alter content unless explicitly instructed.

2. Confidentiality
   We treat all client materials as confidential and will not disclose or use information for personal or commercial gain. Confidentiality is maintained at all times, including during subcontracting or collaborative work.

3. Cultural Sensitivity
   We approach all work with respect for both source and target cultures. We recognise the power of language in shaping perception and commit to translations that are culturally aware and free of bias.

4. Responsible Use of Technology & AI
   We acknowledge that AI and machine translation tools may assist certain aspects of our work, but they are never a substitute for human judgment, context, and ethics. We disclose when AI tools have been used and take full responsibility for the accuracy and appropriateness of the final text.

5. Professional Conduct
   We adhere to agreed deadlines, communicate clearly with clients and collaborators, and maintain a courteous and respectful manner in all professional interactions.

6. Continued Professional Development
   We commit to lifelong learning and skill development, keeping up with linguistic, technological, and sector-specific advancements to deliver the highest quality of work.

7. Integrity & Transparency
   We are transparent about our pricing, and capacity. We do not undertake work beyond our expertise without clear communication and, where needed, referral to another professional.
